Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations has issued a message on Islamic Human Rights Day and counted Treatise on Rights (Risalat al-Haquq) by Imam Sajjad (AS) fourth Shia Imam and Nahjul-Balagha by Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, as references which can base the references for the new field to be launched at the academy, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The cleric in part of his message said,” The present version of Human Rights is not a means to defend human beings, children and women but a means for the claimants to victimize people from Afghanistan to Iraq from Asia to Africa with any denomination or ethnical and religious identity.”

He added,” Religious teachings neither confine rights of man to his human or temporal demands nor defends human rights in a show off game but maintains both his worldly and spiritual rights.”

According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari although human rights is a modern concept, centuries ago, holy Qur’an and Islamic teachings had discussed the idea in moral values and convening legal-Fiq’hi values.

Iranian cleric also counted Treatise on Rights (Risalat al-Haquq) by Imam Sajjad (AS) fourth Shia Imam and Nahjul-Balagha by Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, as references which can base the references for the new field to be launched at the academy.

He then announced that the University of Islamic Denominations, with a comparative approach, will be launching the new field, Islamic Human Rights and vowed to employ capabilities of all Islamic schools of thought.

The University of Islamic Denominations is planning to bring new theories in efforts during the new semester to expand inter disciplinary fields.
